Our prayer for Afghanistan We respond to the appeal launched by Pope Francis during the Angelus on 29 August 2021
Let us continue to pray for the situation in Afghanistan and in the world: let us respond to the appeal of Pope Francis personally, in association, in the parish, …let us involve our brothers and sisters Christians and believers.
The situation being experienced by the Afghan people challenges us. Let us take up the invitation launched by Fr. Giovanni Scalese * and pray. In the countries where refugees are arriving, let us participate in welcoming them. And let us continue to keep our attention focused.
*fr. Giovanni Scalese, a Barnabite in charge of the Catholic Mission in Afghanistan, returned to Italy on Thursday, 26 August, with the sisters of various congregations who have up to now carried out their silent but fruitful work of service and care for the most fragile.
