We are pleased to inform you about a new initiative which the ICA and the countries members of the IFCA Secretariat are undertaking. It is a calendar which is being edited by the publishing house AVE and which will accompany us as from December 2015, with the opening of the Jubilee, up to May 2017, during the preparations and celebrations of the ICA Assembly, at different levels, and the IFCA Assembly which will be preceded by a Congress on CA in April 2017.

In view of the fact that CA lives in a particular Church in communion with the universal Church, this calendar is meant to be an instrument which will help to root us in our dioceses while breathing our association’s catholic dimension, united in a fraternal and supportive journey with all CA associations of the world. We have tried to show Catholic Action’s international aspect through photos of CA activities from IFCA member countries (Argentina, Burundi, Italy, Romania and Spain) and from the Holy Land which is so close to our hearts. We also renew our commitment, as missionary disciples, to an ’outgoing’ CA which knows how to answer to its proper vocation, at this time, when Pope Francis is asking us to remain in Jesus, to go out and to rejoice, sharing the missionary dream to “transform everything and to reach everyone”..

We have chosen the slogan “Catholic Action… a beautiful story like the world” with reference to the history of our association, which, in 2017 marks 150 years of the ICA and 30 years of IFCA and with reference to the world, to our common house, beautiful “as a beautiful mother who embraces us within her arms”  (Ls 1)

The pictures seek to highlight that which is common to all of us and every month we have a quotation from Pope Francis.

We hope that our commitment to circulate this calendar in our houses, in our centres, as a gift to our pastors and priest assistants, to our friends…, will be a clear evidence of our sense of belonging.
