Appeal to remain united in prayer

We are close to the Catholic Action of Myanmar that invite to remain united in prayer

All Catholic Actions in the world unite in prayer for the people of Myanmar, for the many friends of CA who are asking us to pray for them and to help them by keeping alive the attention in our countries on the tragic reality in which they are living, struggling peacefully for democracy, justice and peace.

We continue to pray for Myanmar.
In recent weeks the international media has rarely turned the attention on the country where the situation is very critical.

We continue to pray for Myanmar with Pope Francis who receives the news directly from the Bishops, from the local churches.

ANGELUS 20.06.2021
I join my voice to that of the Bishops of Myanmar, who last week launched an appeal calling the entire world’s attention to the heartrending experience of thousands of people in that country who are displaced and have been dying of hunger: “We implore with all courtesy that humanitarian corridors be permitted” and that “churches, pagodas, monasteries, mosques, temples, as well as schools and hospitals” be respected as neutral places of refuge. May the Heart of Christ touch the hearts of everyone, bringing peace to Myanmar!

We continue to inform (We invite you to follow the Catholic agencies)

Once again, and with great sorrow, I feel it is urgent to mention the dramatic situation in Myanmar, where so many people, especially the young, are losing their lives to offer hope to their country. I too kneel on the streets of Myanmar and say: stop the violence! I too reach out my arms and say: may dialogue prevail!
General Audience, 17th May 2021

I express my closeness to young people throughout the world and, in these days, especially to the young people of Myanmar committed to supporting democracy and making their voices heard peacefully, in the knowledge that hatred can be dispelled only by love.
Pope Francis – Urbi et Orbi Message Easter 2021

In this context, there is an initiative that is very close to my heart: that of the Burmese Church, which invites us to pray for peace for Myanmar with a Hail Mary in our daily Rosary. Each of us turns to our mother when we are in need or in difficulty. This month, we ask our Mother of Heaven to speak to the hearts of all leaders in Myanmar so that they may find the courage to walk the path of encounter, reconciliation and peace.
