Pre-Synodal Diary and videos
6 day
“The pre-synodal mothers and fathers have approved the document which will be presented to the Pope and to the Bishops to work on in the Synod in October”. This is one piece of news for today. The final document has put together the life, experiences, thoughts and ideas of the young people of the world.
Our fatigue as representatives was great because it is not easy to draw up a document that can be an expression of so many differences of belief, culture, countries etc. But the difficulty was overcome by the beauty of this week: it was an experience of a world which wanted to say out loud what young people experience, what young people want, what young people ask, in primis to the Church, but not only, because the need that the whole of society must take care of young people and of their lives has come out very clearly. It was interesting to see the changes and improvements in document day after day, with the objective of keeping the different souls of the assembly together. Of course, it was not possible to have everything written down. A number of topics were not treated, but this was a first step towards a commitment to promote youth protagonism which will automatically spread throughout the world!
Now the ball does not pass only to the synod fathers, but also remains in our feet because we have started a synodal process which does not end here but must be followed up in our parishes, dioceses, associations, movements and communities. We also have to work in universities, schools and in any place in which we live.
