CA MALTA General Assembly 6 November 2016 – “The Joy in Action”
The theme chosen by the Malta Catholic Action for 2016-2017 is inspired by Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation: Evangelii Gaudium.
The joy in people, resulting from a full experience of Jesus Christ, does not leave us indifferent to the realities that surround us. This experience moves us to follow Jesus Christ as missionaries. With Jeremiah we say:
“it is as if fire is burning in my heart, imprisoned in my bones; I grow weary holding back, I cannot!” (Jeremiah, 20, 9).
We feel the need to share our experience of Jesus Christ with others! With all those we meet in our ways of life: through our family, through school, through our jobs and also in every-day life . All this is possible if first there is a change in us. We need to be ready to discover and live the joy which is renewed in Christ. People need to see in us a witness of how to live Christian life with joy and thus face life with courage and hope.
The theme also helps us to reflect and to search for joy in the associated life because “With Christ joy is constantly born anew” (EG 1). This year needs to be an occasion where as Catholic Action we evaluate our work in relation to the people we are meeting and serving thus making sure that every occasion is an authentic experience of the message of Jesus Christ. This experience will push us towards being able to take Jesus to those who are in the peripheries.
The General Assembly will meet in St. Joseph’s School Blata l-Bajda on November 6th at 9am. Every member of the Maltese Catholic Action along with his family is invited to this celebration.
